How to Setup a WordPress Website with Bluehost

NOTE: This website is also hosted on Bluehost and in the 3years term, I and my users never faced any problem with my website. This the only thing I want to say. Rest, you are already talented.

Get Free domain and Buy Hosting From Bluehost

A Step by Step Guide to Setup a WordPress Website with BlueHost:

First, visit the Bluehost homepage and click Get Started

This will take you to a page where you will see four different packages to choose from.

I will quickly explain the various packages:

Bluehost plans: this is my suggestion

  1. Run only one site: Basic
  2. Run multiple sites: Plus
  3. Need who.is a guard(Domain Privacy): Choice Plus
  4. Want dedicated IP then go for: Pro

Since the price difference between the plus and choice plus packages is not large, you should choose Choice Plus. Even if you only host one site right now, you can use the Choice Plus package, and if you want, you can host unlimited sites in the future.

Note: The link we give here will give you a big discount on all of these packages but this discount is only applies to your first bill, so it is best to buy a two or three-year package to save money.

Note: In this tutorial, I will purchase the Starter program for 36 months. No matter which solution you choose, the process is the same.

Step 1: Choose a new (free) domain or use an existing one.

After choosing a plan, you can choose to get a free domain name from Bluehost, or you can use any existing domain name.

Remember, if you don’t need it now, you can use your free domain name later.

You can also apply for a free domain name later. Just send an email to Bluehost’s customer service team and they will help you. (Most of the time you will see a popup in which they will provide free domain with a less hosting price[Normally 2.95$] also)

If you are using an existing domain name, you will need to change the domain name registrar’s domain name server to:

  • NS1.Bluehost.com
  • NS2.Bluehost.com

If you want to keep it simple, enter the domain name you want to purchase in the “New Domain Name” field and activate your free domain name using the web hosting plan.

Click “Next” and start from here, the rest of the steps will be very simple.

Step 2: Enter your account details.

In this section, you will need to enter your details (name, email address, address, etc.).

Be sure to verify every detail, especially your email address. Your login and hosting information will be sent to your email address.

Step 3: Choose the right package.

This part is crucial, and you should pay special attention to this to ensure that you don’t have to pay more for unwanted attachments.

Choose your hosting package for 24 or 36 months. You will notice that the price drops as the deadline increases.

Be sure to deselect the “Site Backup Pro” and “Sitelock Security” options because you don’t really need them.

Step 4: Complete the host purchase.

Before you make a payment, I recommend that you scroll up and verify all the information again.

By default, you’ll see the option to pay only by credit card, but if you want to pay via PayPal, click on “More Payment Options” and it will also show payment via the PayPal option.

After payment, you will see another sales page as shown below.

The hosted payment confirms this content.

Click “No, thank you” at the end of the page.

On the next page, you will see a confirmation of the purchase of the hosting package and you will see the screen shown below.

Click Create Password.

Step 5: Choose your password.

This is the final stage of your web hosting purchase.

You can choose a password or use a password generator to create complex passwords (which I recommend). Copy and paste the password into a safe location and click Paste.

Click “Create”, that’s it!

Now, the process of buying virtual hosts for your blog has been completed 98%.

Step 6: Log in to your web host cPanel.

Check your email inbox and you will receive a confirmation email with all the login information for your web hosting account.

The only content not included in the email is the password you created in the previous step – this is for your security.

Go to Bluehost.com and click on “Login” at the top.

In the Login field, type your domain name or username and the password you selected or generated.

Click “Submit.”

Now you will be taken to the Bluehost dashboard optimized for WordPress:

Congratulations! You just purchased your web hosting package and domain name.
